THECHARACTER
hey, i'm DAKOTA ROSE JOHNSON but you can call me DAKOTA, DJ, or 392. i'm SIXTEEN years old, and still aging. people say that i'm SINGLE but i will be looking out for those GUYS. some say that i look like KAYA SCODELARIO but i don't think so. i currently belong to the BIRD-KIDS and living large!
THEAPPEARANCE
Dakota stands at five foot five, weighs eighty pounds, with a thin, athletic build. All of those attributes come from her bird-kid genes, though she is short for her kind. She has fair, slightly tanned skin. Her green blue eyes are off-set with her natural brown hair. She has a tattoo on the back of her neck, 392d, which shows her species number and identification to anybody in her old Lab.
Her style was very easy going. a basic teeshirt and a pair of jean capris was her usual attire. see, these were easy to get a hold of, and durable. this isn't to say that she doesn't have a few nicer clothes which she keeps in a small knapsack that she carries around with her. within, it holds a few pairs of jeans that haven't been ripped to shreds, and a faint yellow button up shirt. she tends to wear this outfit whenever she goes somewhere when she doesn't want to draw attention to herself and get thrown out for being homeless or whatever. her constant, though, is a frayed pair of converse that she has just recently acquired. they're just a basic pair in a black shade, so they go with almost anything.
THEPERSONA
Dakota is the strong and silent type. She likes flying, running, drawing, and reading other people's emotions. When she's thinking about it, she truly likes beating up the Erasers, feeling a bit of money in her pocket, and staying in the same place without having to worry about being killed. She also finds pleasure in being able to read other people's emotions.
On the other hand, she doesn't like being in groups of people. Nor does she like having to calm down and simply walk. Hiding isn't the best either, nor is losing a fight. She has a pride that cannot be dampened. She doesn't like being confused either, seeing as emotions are supposed to be her strong suit. But, it is inevitable, seeing as everybody's emotions are messing with hers.
Fears, goals. They're all same to her. She's afraid of being caught by the lab, so a goal would be not to return. She doesn't want to fall in love, so she must destroy the one person who she thought she could. She fears being lost, so she tries to stay in places she recognizes. She always wants to, eventually, be able to control people's emotions more easily without feeling like she's going ot pass out. She also hates small spaces, she might be a bit claustrophobic, but she'd never tell you anything.
THEPOWER
Dakota can read, and on occasion alter, the emotions of people around her. The downside is that it takes a lot of energy and she's usually left exhausted. Ultimately, when her power becomes more defined, she'll be able to control people's emotions around her, and it won't have as much tax on her. Another side effect is that her emotions will take on the attributes of the people around her, if she isn't paying much attention to herself.
THEHISTORY
Dakota was borne onto her family as a miracle child. A special Lab, which said that they were with government officials, had offered them a large sum of money in order to do a few tests on some of the newer embryos to tell the parents exactly what the child was going to look like. The family, which was struggling with money at the moment, agreed almost instantaneously. Throughout the first few months, tests were ran, needles injected, and progress was watched with careful eyes. The doctors in question, of course, told the family the basics, showed pictures, and did everything to make the parents happy with this experiment. Something they didn’t tell them though, was that their child was going to be born with wings.
By the time Dakota turned six, she had a rather strong dislike of her parents, in which her father had even gone as far as abusing her to get her to not like them any more. When the White Coats came to pick her up, her parents called them Doctors, she went with them rather obediently, only causing trouble when she dropped her bags and made them slow down to help her pick them up. Other than that, the progress was quick and Dakota sat in the back seat, turned around to watch the ever fading scene of the house that held many good and bad memories. It wasn’t part of her any more.
When they arrived at the Lab, the White Coats helped her with her stuff in a polite manner and they showed her to a small room which was decorated with only a bed and a desk. In the corner was a window, which they wouldn’t say but was reinforced to prevent anybody from escaping. They dropped off her stuff here and gave her instructions to the bathrooms and cafeterias, which at the moment were the only other places she was allowed to go alone. Eventually, things would cause her to escape the Lab in Tennessee.
For about a year, after escaping the Lab, she stayed in the direct Tennessee area, doing air tricks for special audiences for money, stealing when she had too. Her styles of fighting changed to more of a street oriented fashion, all of her years of training almost leaking away to be replaced with everything she learned on the streets. Her memory became fogged and she quickly forgot the looks and name of the boy who had betrayed her.
Then, at the age of fourteen nearing fifteen, Dakota heard of a Flock of bird-kids up north in the New York area. Of course, this wasn’t street knowledge, she still raided the Lab every once in the while for information. So, with that in mind, she left to the New York area, while she flew around to track down this Flock before the Erasers tracked them down. This has taken about a year, and Dakota still has not found them, but this leaves us at the present time in which she now belongs too.
